Cardinals!

My yard has been full of cardinals this winter. Every time the ground is covered in snow, they show up at the feeders in droves. I counted 50 pairs one day, and gave up.
There were so many of them that DH even noticed, and he's started looking at them every day to see how many are there.
These aren't the best pics, taken through the window next to my computer.
What do you call a huge flock of cardinals? I call it a blessing!

It is weird how they show up isn't it?! We had so many yesterday show up out of the blue. It was nonstop all day long. Like they knew a big storm was supposed to be coming....I had to fill the feeders 3 times yesterday!

I think I miss these the most during snowfalls. They just make it all worth it, with thier beauty against fresh fallen snow, don't you?

I agree, Jane. There are few things that brighten a winter more than the sight of cardinals on a snowcovered branch.
You'll have yours back next year!

One of my favorite winter scenes, cardinals in the snow!! Wow Linda, 50 pairs!!!?? I get excited when we get more than six pairs!

We have the feeder right out the window and could watch them for hours. Amazing how they know when to show up. Sometimes I don't get out there to fill the feeders for a few days and we really miss seeing them. Somehow when I fill the feeder they find it again within the hour!

Great pics Linda!

OC is lucky to havde thdem here the year round

He love to see families come up on the Deck to feed at one time. The little ones are so cute. It is a wonder they survive.

OC loving the good lord's little birdies.......
