Their call drives me batty some days, but they sure are beautiful birds! My pics don't do them justice.

Spider, we have the Pileated Woodpeckers too! I have yet to get a photo of one though. That is the bird I am dying to get a pic of!

They don't seem to go at quite the non-stop rate that the flicker do when they first show up. It has been 3 weeks of torture here with all of them. It seems now that they are mated up and getting ready to nest the do shutup for periods of time!

This is located in the little woods across the road and I was about 8- 10 feet away. :P
