Red Breasted Grosbeak!

Post by Hosta12_Ia »

I have a red breasted grosbeak at my feeder...if the kids will quit making noise and scaring it off. This is a first for me! I will have to see if I can get a picture.

Grackle, guns....there is a reason they both start with 'G' you know? You need to own one for the other! :( Hate those things!

Hope you get your pics!

Here is the one and only I have from june of 2003~ They always pic the closest feeder right outside the door and there's no way to get out and get a pic of them, so it's through a patio door and screen pic I believe. Hope your's is better! :D

The kids must be too noisy. Haven't seen it again...boohoo.
Sure was pretty, though. Will have to settle for the Orioles. I have heard them, but haven't spied them, yet. It's not really settling, though, cuz I really like the Orioles.

We have got the most we have ever had this year!! I love them......they are at the suet and my feeder.....in the feeder I use what is called Cardinal food, then I add black oil sunflower seed and then safflower seed.....This is the first year I have added the safflower.......Plus, I have had this *gray* bird with a dark head top eating the jelly.....anyone know what that is? You know? Your welcome :) There quite quiet here, but I hear they can mimick other sounds in their surroundings. Maybe I'm wrong, but I like them. They forage for bugs among the hosta. My favorite type of bird :)
