Slinky!

I caught this guy slithering up un Day's End! Anyone know what he is? He has a flat nose. Gardener or Copperhead? :eek:

Kind of looks like a baby Corn Snake. Very cool.

Corn snake sounds even better! :cool: They eat little critters like voles & moles & field mice!

It is a Corn snake for sure! I found 5 more later in the day. They must be new hatchlings. I cauaght 4 of them & moved them into the field next to our home. I hate being surprised when I am out digging or cleaning up! :eek: :roll:

You and dear hubby! I have yet to tell him, that the gardeners we have are known for nesting under cement foundations in the winter. I've read that they'll congregate from miles (2 maybe) around and hibernate together under a cement slab or building in an area they excavate. I'm certain that's the holes I see going under his garage behind my larger hosta next to it. They are there every year. Funny thing is, the area is directly under his space type heater in the garage. Think maybe it keeps their den warm? :D I'll never tell him though, b/c I'm certain that's why I never have rodent (aka: moles, voles and other varmits) in that garden! :D
