Now I know a lot of you have to fend them off. They aren't near and dear to your heart so to speak. But until I reach that point I look forward to spring when the does show up and get ready to have their new fawns!
We don't really see the bucks around till fall and the beginning of rut is really bad though!
These were taken April 20th. This not my house in the one pic. It is a neighbor's.

I was in the woods trying to track the call of an Eastern Towhee bird when I got surprised on May 5th! Again I am talking to her and the one lags behind the group (there are 4) and looks at me trying to figure me out.

Claudia I think she keeps looking at you trying to figure you out. She wonders what kind of woodland creature you are . . . you're out there as often as she is!!
I will be seeing them again soon. In the last couple years they cleared quite a bit of land just a couple lots over from us and put in a big apartment complex. And half a mile south they are putting in a residential neighborhood. Now the only wooded area that remains is a lot behind us and two lots just to the southeast of us. We have seen the deer more frequently now that they lost so much of their territory. Hate when the feed on the garden, but they sure are pretty to watch.
Great pics!
