Anhinga owns the boat!

Post by Spider »

This boat has been blocking my view of the fish in the lake for a while now. This Anhinga hen has taken a liking to it. (it's now turned upside down on the bank - and covered in poo) :)

Apparently I can't get enough of these birds. At least the photo quality is getting better. :)

Very nice pictures. You are getting pretty good with that new camera! So ... do they swim with their bodies under the water like that? or was she/he just coming up from the dive to catch the fish? Thanks for sharing. It's nice to see things from other parts of the country.

That's as much as they surface. Most of the time you only see a swell in the water and then the snake-like head and neck. They are not waterproof like ducks, and less so than Comerants. That's why they are always on the bank (or boats, lol) sunning their wings.
