Do hummingbirds bother butterflies?

Is it a bad idea to put a hummingbird feeder in my butterfly garden?

Thanks! I thought I should check after learning that praying mantises eat hummingbirds. :o Ya never know what you'll learn next!

It can happen on a rare occacsion. If I spot one close to my feeders I just move it to another area! I had a couple of really HUGE ones last year that I put over in the wooded area since they were sooo big!

We had butterfly bushes in GA and the hummers and butterflys shared them peacefully. The hummers didn't like each other and almost impaled me on occasion!

I know that hummingbirds are competitive with each other.

Right now I have blackbirds that chase the cardinals and bluejays away from my platform feeder. I've decided to stop filling the feeder for a while. I hope the blackbirds go away and I hope the bluejays return in a week or so. I'm glad we don't have any squirrels!
