I was SO close to the Sandhill Cranes! They were within reach. Almost burnt my cheeseburger, instead one Sandhill got a piece

Getting the shots of the Sandhills was worth the 3 fire ant bites/stings I got on my toes! Sandhill cranes migrate through the center of the US, so you guys probably do have them. I saw and heard them frequently in MN, but you couldn't get anywhere near them! The second to last photo may make it into the state fair next year (it's in Ferbuary here).
