There are about a dozen birds fattening up before the migration southward, they normally are all gone around the second week of October, the males must of all left already, haven't seen one for a week or more

Nice pics Ed!! Our males left last week too. I did have a male come in that was here saturday and sunday. Think he waited out the storms here and moved on yesterday. So I just have a couple females and 3 very chatty juvies for now. This little guy always has a lot to say to me!

I sure wish I knew how you get them to sit still, or get such nice close up pictures

Feeders are right up by the porches. So they get some what used to us, and of course there are plants there too that they like. For the one above, I was putting out a fresh feeder. It is in my left hand, camera in my right. He wouldn't come in to the feeder but kept landing and perching on the Black & Blue Salvia right in front of me. There were 3 of them flying and chasing all around my head!

And I have all the time in the world to wait for them!

I love your pictures.
I had wondered what happened to the males. I didn't know they left earlier than females. I though something bad might have happened to them.

Thanks Garden

I am still seeing hummers, in lesser numbers, but they are still passing through, it has been getting colder so it may not be much longer before their gone for the year.

I have the hummingbirds coming to my black and blue salvia too, I try to get a new plant each year just for the hummers, they love it the best in my yard, they were here two days ago, but I did not see them today. Our weather turned cold at night the last two nights.
