Fall Squirrels
We don't have as many squirrles as we did earlier in the year due to the Owls and the Red-shoulder Hawks nesting across the road this summer. But we still have a few pass thru the yard over the course of the day.
Burying their stash of nuts is at the top of their priority list. Like this industrious one!

Re: Fall Squirrels
I love watching the squirrels. We have tons here and they are just as cute as they can be. My cats go crazy when they're sitting at the patio door and a squirrel comes up on the deck. It's really funny to watch their reactions.

Have to say, I don't miss them eating all my birdseed out of the feeders. I am saving a bundle on BOSS right now!

Re: Fall Squirrels
Owls and hawks are a two edged sword for us.
We have a ton of squirrels; black, red, grey, and a few mixed.
My chihuahuas HATE the squirrels and wear themselves out chasing them up the trees and out of the yard.
But the dogs are so small that the hawks and owls that hunt the squirrels can also prey on my little dogs.
We dress the dogs in sweaters and have bells on their collars so they will look less like prey and so far, so good, but
we still have to watch all the time, day and night.
Love the pictures of the squirrels. I will try to get one peering in the skylight on the porch. It is weird to be sitting on the
computer and get the feeling you are being watched. Look up and one or two of them are looking down at me, I suppose
wondering why there is no birdseed in the feeder for them.

Re: Fall Squirrels
We have a little minpin who hate sthe squirrles. Buddy goes nuts when he spots one out the sliding door!!
He is a very small minpin but around 8lbs. so the only bird of prey that could take him is a Great Horned Owl or an Eagle and they don't usually come this far from the lake...and Bud is afraid of the dark so he doesn't go out alone after dark!
This one was watching me today as I was trying to photograph birds today.
