Cool pic!! I had one of those at my feeder too. Me and Muffy looked it up because I thought at first it was a flicker LOL.

My pic didn't come out nearly as good as yours though!

if you keep suet available SHE will probably stick around. They really like nuts too! :snow:

On the male the red comes all the way down the front to the forehead area.

OK Claudia, how the heck can you tell if it's a he or a she by that? :hmm: were only looking at a little more red on top.
If it was a bald guy it would be easy, and you know that this one was my first Red Bellied, and she is kind of pretty un-like most girl birds, so it was an honest mistake :wink:

More great shots I've never been able to get!

And Claudia, you're such a great source of information about them all! I never knew that about the red extension and male/female. I'll have to search my old pics! :D Thanks!
