Snow geese by the dozens!

Post by Annie »

Now I know that the snow geese fly through here during their migration, but I have only seen a few mixed in with the Canadian geese. Well lookie what I saw today!!!

HUNDREDS OF THEM!!! A few Canadian geese and some I have never seen before mixed with them.

Here is a video I got of them and a few pictures.

Here is just a part of the flock flying!

You can see the odd color ones in this picture.

Thanks for the pix. It must have been quite an experience to see all of them. We have a lot of Canada geese here and only occasionally see a Snow Goose mixed in with them. I would love to see flocks of them together.

Wow, that's a lot of geese no matter what kind!! I bet the odd colored ones are just first year snow geese. Way to go on the photos!

I looked the white headed ones up, seems they are just a "blue" morph of the regular snow geese :)

The most snow geese I have ever seen were 3 or 4 in a bunch of Canadian geese. And all geese total were only about like 50. Not this huge mass

It was really cool! Man they are so loud when the flock is that big. I must have just been lucky seeing them. I have never seen that many geese in one spot in my whole life LOL.

Wow! I've seen great flocks of them fly over, but always so high up in the air you can't really see the individual birds. I can hear them, though!!! Great shots. I bet you were really excited to see that sight!
