Something has changed in my yard..

Post by Dusty »

I have had my bald eagle visit 3 times now and I seem to have a new resident. A young Red-Tailed Hawk, not to mention the Northern Harrier that's been here a few years now. I think the red-tail is hunting the lil chipmunks as he sit's in the hawthorn looking at the chipmunk hole. I think the chip know's he's being hunted to because when he comes out.. he pops out fast then runs back in.. gives it a minute the peeks out real slow.. It's funny as all get out!

I'm not sure what Baldy is after yet.. my pond is frozen and he seems to just rest a second then move along.

I don't understand all the big predators all the sudden.

I live "in town" surrounded by busy streets. I came home to a chicken! I gave him some of my caged finches seed and he just scratched away. Lol, he was cute! I bet your redtail would like him.

You beat me to it!!

We have lots of red tailed hawks around here, and I saw my little hawk the other day swooping through the bird feeder.

Don't have any Bald eagles though! That would be so cool, I wouldn't have to drive anywhere to get a picture of one :)

 That's why they call me Duh-sty!

I'd still keep him! We had a rooster once... I got him at an auction for 50 cents because noone wanted him and I felt bad for the guy! He thought he was a cat... a big fat cat. He slept in my mudroom.. Folks would come in late and wake him up.. He's start cockadoodling and scare the daylights out of them! He let the kids carry him around... he really was cool.
