We heard some crows making a real fuss in the woods behind the yard. Thought maybe they had found an owl and were tormenting him but it was a bear. He's only a year or two old, we've had much bigger ones around, but I've never got a picture of them.

Nice job catching a pic of the bear! My folks live in SE Ky and they had a black bear go through their yard last week. My Dad was outside doing some weedwacking at the time and didn't even see it. My cousin saw it go right in front of my parent's house , up the driveway , into my cousins yard, and then back into the woods on the hillside. I'm glad my Dad and the bear didn't come face to face!

That is one kind of wildlife I am glad we don't have around here. Have had a couple real close calls with black bears while hiking and camping and was not happy about either interface. I would not want one in my back yard and that is for sure. Thanks for showing the picture.

There are some very large black bears in this area of the Poconos. Some over 400 lbs in the fall.
A camper in the nearby state park was attacked by one a couple summers back, but mostly they
don't bother people.
We do have to put our birdfeeders away at night. Bears can smell food 2 miles away. They will
rip down birdfeeders especially if you have suet cakes out.
That chicken wire fence keeps the deer out, but the bear just breaks right through it. And they've ripped
through a couple of garden gates also.

Nice pic...but I am glad you were the one taking it and not me!

Our dogs keep most pesky wildlife at bay, but I'm not sure they would do well against a bear!

I had no idea bears were in that part of the country or in KY.

We used to have a beagle and I could not get that dog to raise his head and even look at a deer. All he wanted to do was
sniff the ground. lol - he wouldn't even bark at them.
