Nature sure can be rough sometimes

Post by Spider »

This morning the news had a sad story. A few months ago a dolphin beached and was brought to the local Aquarium to be rehabbed. He was cured of pneumonia, gastroenteritis and malnutrition and was released yesterday morning. They planned on following him for a few hours to be sure he was OK and then track him with the thing they attached to him. He swam around a bit, hung with a pair of other dolphins and all was well. Three hours after being released sharks attacked him and damaged him enough they had to euthanize him. All is not lost however, they are doing a necropsy to see just how well their rehab program is actually doing on an internal basis. Life was just not in the cards for this poor guy. :(
