Feeding birds could change their evolution

Post by Gardentoad »

It's interesting that the changes are occuring so fast. We are loosing so many animals so rapidly now. This is good news that perhaps a few species can adapt to the changing climate in less time.
Bird-feeders, hung in many a garden, can affect the way our feathered friends evolve, say scientists.

European birds called blackcaps follow a different "evolutionary path" if they spend the winter eating food put out for them in UK gardens.

Never before have so few with so much promised to take away so much from so many and then laugh their asses off as the so many with so little vote for the so few with so much.

There is a book out on Darwin's finches (on Galapagos Islands) that documents the changes brought on by availability of certain feedstuffs in just a generation or two. Interesting, if slow, reading.
