Feeding birds could change their evolution

It's interesting that the changes are occuring so fast. We are loosing so many animals so rapidly now. This is good news that perhaps a few species can adapt to the changing climate in less time.
Bird-feeders, hung in many a garden, can affect the way our feathered friends evolve, say scientists.

European birds called blackcaps follow a different "evolutionary path" if they spend the winter eating food put out for them in UK gardens.

There is a book out on Darwin's finches (on Galapagos Islands) that documents the changes brought on by availability of certain feedstuffs in just a generation or two. Interesting, if slow, reading.
