This red-bellied woodpecker hit a window and is resting and recovering on the porch. A few minutes later it flew away...or a cat got it.

I have downy woodpeckers that are always flying into the picture window. Some fly away, some don't.
I even had a red tailed hawk fly into the window. Lucky me, he didn't break the window. But he must have had
one He** of a headache. He sat there for a long time before he flew away.
