First Hatching of Praying Mantis
This is the first hatching we've seen so far this year. Pretty amazing to watch as they were just emerging from the egg case. Ants found it, and so did a daddy-long-legs, so they were having trouble getting too far without becoming breakfast We have praying mantis egg cases all over the place and it won't be long before we are crawling with these natural born predators

My favorite "bug"! I've found only one this year in the front yard and moved it to the back. My thought would be to spread those around or they will feed off one another till the numbers are way down.

It is amazing how tiny these really are when they hatch. They are crawling up a blue-eyed grass.
