Catepillar ID?

Anyone good with catepillars?

Looking for ID on this yellow guy. Good size, yellow, black spikes of hair on it..... :???:

The closest thing I can come to on this one is some kind of tiger moth, but I couldn't find one exactly like it in my book. Some kind of moth, though.

Thanks Chris. I had never seen a yellow one before. Closest thing I could find was a Banded Tussock Moth.

That's pretty close. I don't know how much variation you can get in catepillars.

Both are pretty close to the Banded Tussock Moth (maybe?)

I did a search there with "yellow/white" in main body color and Hair Density as "dense".

As you search the table on the left margin shrinks in number. I think the above criteria gave me 15 to look at, so I did.

Based on photos I found at that link, there is quite a bit of variability. I will go with this ID until I have time to search further.
