Post by ladybug »

most of you know me from the hosta forum. i went to visit my friend that lives like 20-25 miles away from me that i met on the internet. she assisted me in getting obsessed with hostas. she told me that there was a daylily farm like five miles from her house. they sell on the internet too, so i won't mention name here on this forum. i never carry checks and rarely carry much money. i debit everything. well they didn't take debit so i scratched through me purse several times and came up with 132.00. i left with zero in my purse. i bought the following
border sentry, comic strip, devrish, double ladybug ra, john carl seager, leeba orange crush, nivia guest, pumpkin pie spice, tangerine horses, exotic love, juanitas picotte delight and early messenger. i purchased elsewhere, route 66, fairly tale pink, pardon me, scarlet orbit, siloam double classic, scarlock lily, and two red unnamed ones. i have a couple my mother has given me that she got from a friend that has a daylily farm in tenn. i need to get it identified if that is possbile.

Hey Ladybug, nice to see you over here on the daylily forum. Welcome.

I have been "into" daylilies much longer than I have hostas, and am still very obsessed.

Tomorrow we are going to the daylily farm that is a little over an hour from where we live. We have gone at least once a year for the last 6 or 7 years. The guy is a hybrodizer (sp) and he sells his culls very reasonably. What he calls culls I call beautiful and no one else has one just like what you have, because when you buy it he gives you the whole clump. Sometimes it is a few fans and sometimes it is many.

So enjoy your new obsession. You got some great ones to get started with.

Oh my goodness! Very pretty! I could get obsessed with these too! I have just a couple of them, but wish I had space for many more. *G*

Pretty plants! I wonder if the very last one might be Black Eye? I tried to find a pic online without any luck but I used to have that one and I think it is similar??

Wow ladybug, those are beautiful!! I like them all, but Deverish is cool, Double LadyBug is nice, and Fairy Tail Pink is nice, and Pumpkin Pie Spice is a cutie, and your Route 66 reminds me of my Anzec (sp)...Does is just like shine? Anzec does, and the bud count is unbelieveble....It's got like 10 stalkes with about 10 buds on each....Unreal!! ...Oh man, you got me all excited to see more of mine open...

Thanks for sharing...I enjoyed them! :D
