What the heck is this?

Post by LucyGoose »

A lot of my daylily's have this, but I was told that the brown thingy on the first picture is aphids.....Am I to spray anything? Seems like it don't bother them, they are blooming away.....But on the other pictures, what is that? Poor drainage? Not enough water? I have been watering in the evening....We had that terrible heat, and are to get it again early next week....

Thanks!!

I've got some icky foliage too. It seems like certain ones get a lot of dying foliage every year. Others stay nice and green. Not sure if it's the plant or some kind of problem I can cure. Hopefully I'll learn something from your post here.

Ditto on those thoughts. Do they pull off easy?

I had some one year that did, but didn't do anything but cut off the uglies. Hope it's nothing serious, cause I've never treated it either.
