This is Joan Senior's very first ever bloom for me - and I've had her probably three years. It's pretty though! A crappy bloom from Black Eye - but the color is reasonable accurate.
These three different pinks seemed to want to have their picture taken together, the way they were tilting their heads as though competing for the camera (Smoky Mt. Autumn, Janice Brown and Radiant Love). Also - a really pretty Siloam Double Classic bloom.
Nice ones, Snow. I bought Joan Senior this year. Was in pot at local nursery and it has had a bloom on it. I don't have SMA, it is very pretty. I have the others, but Janice Brown just purchased this year. Mine are almost finished blooming here
I got Joan Senior this year too, and darned if that is the only one that didn;t bloom for me. I suer hope I don't have to wait two more years to see a flower. It is a lovely one!
Beautiful colors Snow. I have Joan Sr and it took me two years to get one bloom now year 4 I got 3 blooms and they all look sick. I think it is time for me to give up on that one. It does not like our winters.
I've gotten several blooms from her, Aud - but all considerably smaller (albeit nicely shaped) than those I've seen grown in large numbers at a nearby botanical garden. I have to assume that she's not getting the quality of care in my garden that she's getting in that one. I intend to move all of the daylilies in that particular bed as soon as possible, as they dont get as much sun as other beds in the yard, and it shows by the lack of production.
It is on the corner by the mail box. I think I will move it. Maybe it is getting salt from the snow plow. I really wanted it because it is my favorite sisters name.
I have a daylily that I got in 2002 and it has yet to bloom for me. It doesn't seem to be very large. How many leaves.. fans? do they have to have before they grow?
