Moving Daylillies

I have some daylillies that are growing among my hosta & I need to move them as they are getting too thick. When is the best time to move them? Now or in the Spring? Also, when you move them, do you cut them back like they do Iris?

Jan you can move them now and yes i would cut them back and give them lots of water after the move. :D
