H. 'Evergold' is an old favorite of mine and cheery enough to brighten up the dullest day, imo.

David Kirchhoff

The lighter plant was a early bloom in rather cool dry conditions, the darker one on a different scape after plenty of rain, and hot conditions.

I found it interesting how the change in rainfall , and warmth altered the appearance of the bloom.

I almost dug this one up because of poor earlier bloom, and it's poor performance the year before. The colors in pictures are true by the way.

Big Smile, in the Tudra of Wisconsin

Peg do you remember how tall yours got, they are only supposed to get 24" tall, but mine was at least 10" taller than that.

I do believe that mine is a tissue cultured plant also, I got it from a local hosta seller.

OK, On Big Smile, I got confused as to who had it, but thats normal for me anyway.

The color for Chance Encounter is right, I usualy see more gold & ruffling on the edge. I moved it last year weather was drier, and temps cooler than normal, that may be why.

Chance Encounter and Country Melody are among the nicest I grow. Even with some of the newer and nicer I don't think I would ever not grow them.
