I like that Green Widow. The second one, which you are breeding with for shape, is interesting. I've never seen a bell (or tulip) shaped daylily. It's different, is it something new, or are there others out there like that? I'd have to see it in person to really decide if I like it or not.

There are some cup-shaped daylilies out there, but people are selecting for flat, open flowers in preference even to the more usual trumpet shapes; perhaps it is easier to see the throats, eyes, and patterns.

I love the GREEN WIDOW; wonderful green color and nice form. Let's see how it works out as a parent. I've used its pollen on everything!

Attached is another cup-shaped one, SILOAM NUGGET. The color screams across the garden. I've crossed it both ways with the chalice seedling. I've also crossed SN to other sunset colors, and to white, in an attempt to keep the shape but lose the strident gold color!

Thanks, Paul. The color you mention, Siloam Nugget, must be visible from space, it is so intense.

Hi John, I was referring to the previous post of the orangy flower with the darker eye, I'm not a big fan of the bold golds, but I really like the cup shape of the flowers, very interesting.
