15th of July, STREAKED seedling!
15th of July, STREAKED seedling!
Here is a nice streaked seedling, a cross of BACON GOLD NUGGET X PINK STRIPES. Not my favorite colors, but most striped-flower daylilies are in the pink/rose family, so this is exciting. What do you think?

I've not seen a streaked one before, so I'm impressed. Like you, I tend to go for other colors. But I can get excited over this. Very pretty. Does it carry a lot of buds? CHAR

Hi Char, thanks for your post. Too early to tell yet about plant habit. The daylilies are performing as if grown in shade this year, as we''ve had about 3 sunny days out of 50 with rain. Established garden-worthy daylilies are not showing their typical good branching and high bud counts this season.

Wellll...I am with you in that I don't care for the color but I think the "look" is cool!

OMG there is HUGE potential there! Liek a lot of others, I don't care for that color combination, but if you could get that streaking into other DL color combinations you would be the DL hero of the century!
Good luck with that!
and not to hijack the thread, but your brown seedling knocks my socks off every time a bloom opens, and there is another that I need to photo for you when the next bloom opens, it is the same sort of orangey colors (bi color, not striped) of the ones above, but it has huge raised midribs and the pinched points that so many are looking for....
you are getting some amazing seedlings John - congrats!

Hello John,
Congrats! I like the color. It would be beautiful in a mass planting. May consider combining w/ something purple, soft yellow to accent the yellow in your prize, a deep burgandy would also be pleasing to the eye.
Good luck

That is really cool, never mind the color. I would combine it with a white.
