Re: Daylily seedlings
They are all beautiful. I'm especially fond of the 3rd picture series #2 & #3, 4th picture series #5, and the 5th picture series #1. Needless to say, I'm partial to the coral colors.
Re: Daylily seedlings
S-5-B in the first series has a lovely substance and form.
In the third series, I love the one peach/pink, where the throat/eyezone red color bleeds gradually into the flower.

Thanks Carol & John
Carol I'm partial to the corals and pastels myself
John S-5-B was bonus seed from the auction, stopped me in my tracks.
If were talking about S-171 both pic's above S-214 are the same plant on different days, kind of an extreme change of color

Ed, I couldn't believe I was reading that right... talk about extreme change! Very impressive flower, whichever look.
Re: Daylily seedlings
John I couldn't believe it either, to make things more interesting is that it never looked like either picture before this year.
It was always a brighter red with the light edge, bi color
This is the way it looked for the past 5 years, but not this year!

Re: Daylily seedlings
The last one, Sherm's Seedling, bloomed here this summer also. It looked great! It also performed well for our friend Terri Jones in Florida. I tried using Mort Morss on it, but none of the attempts took, then again, with 90-100 degrees daily since May 1st, not much has taken. I thought Sherm's Seedling compared well to Morticia, but was distinct in form.
Re: Daylily seedlings
John
Sherms seedling is a richer color than what my camera caught, It doesn't increase "for me", or rebloom, like it does for Sherm, but it sure is a looker.
Also it seems easy as a pod setter here, but our temps are much cooler than yours

Re: Daylily seedlings
I just read that purple daylilies look best (most saturated purple color) at 60 degrees--- now, that's not going to happen here~
