Need Daylilies that fit this profile...

Post by ThisIsMelissa »

I will be doing a mass planting with a daylily I dug from my mom's garden and schlepped up here to MN from Dayton OH.

My garden designer says to look for this:

Scape height (most important part) 34-42"
Bloom Color: Peach, green or light-yellow (no orangey-yellows)
Bloom form: un-important
Bi-color: only if subtle
Bloom Time: would be nice if it re-bloomed or bloomed most of the season, but eh, I'll deal with whatever.

This is to form a "backdrop", if you will, to my mom's daylily

My designer suggested 'Hyperion' for one, but I have room for several.

Oh, and I have to do this ON THE CHEAP! So please only suggest older and cheaper cultivars. $12 or under for a 3+ fan pot.

Thanks y'all

Siloam June Bug
Children Festival (I have 2 nice pots for you if interested. I pulled to make room for some Martagons)

Thanks for the suggestions and the offer, Paul, but I'm afraid these are all way too short. :-(
You know I hate to turn down free plants! .... speaking of.... The ferns are all coming in quite nicely and a few volunteers are coming up in PERFECT spots!

Yup! In fact, in my research, I came across one that's 66 inches tall! That's taller than me!

:o Never thought daylillies could be a shade plant for hostas

Sorry, could not resist
So you have to check out the different daylilly databases for height... Okay, just remember to check for numbers of blooms and periode too.. no fun if they hardly bloom
