Flavorwave Oven

Has anyone bought this or know someone who has?

I am SO on the verge of ordering it. The only thing that saved me this week is I neglected my bills last month and adding $39.95 for the next 3 months isn't smart when you fell behind on bills. It looks very worth it though considering I still haven't cleaned the mess in the oven from the bacon wrapped herb crusted tenderloin I made a while ago. I'll never follow the "bake uncovered" instructions again! If you've watched the infomercials, it's the one with Mr T. I may cook more meat if I had one. (at least for a little while  ) It should be able to fit my thanksgiving turkey this year (8lb no limbs).

Hmmm, I looked at them on the web. They do look like they would work well. Excellent for a single person or small family, and easy to clean up! Start saving your change! You would be amazed how fast it adds up. Make a pact to throw all your loose change in a jar at the end of everyday, even if its just a few pennies. Let me know how it works when you get it (I have confidence you will get one) Now, go clean that oven

You are right about the change. It does add up. When I was a kid, we paid for vacation with the quarters my mom threw into an empty Skippy peanut butter jar all year. In mid-July, we would count them out, roll them and take them to the bank to get changed for paper money. In August, we would take our vacation and Mom would start saving again.
The oven looks like a fine idea. Let us know how it works.

I had never heard of them so I searched around a little and found the following - http://www.epinions.com/reviews/Thane_Flavorwave_Oven It really doesn't sound like something I would be interested in (I love to cook and rarely if ever use shortcuts) but there sure seem to be some happy people who own them. Good luck and I hope it lives up to or exceeds your expectations!

A co-worker of mine just bought one about a month ago, and she raves about it----enough so that I want one now! :D

 I did it. It will be here Friday. I think I'll do the beef tenderloin first. :) Hope I'm hungry this weekend!

I made some of those frozen Banquet fried chicken legs in it last night. I think I cooked them just a bit too much, but not bad. It will probably take 5-10 minutes off the toaster oven. The fat definately gets away from the meat, I barely had any grease on the paper towels. I'll try the beef when I get paid again, I'll have a real meal at a friends tomorrow, the ham won't fit, lol. It fits more than the toaster oven so I'll use it more for chicken than anything. I'd say so far it's worth it. :)

 Thanks! Lol. It did better today when I cut the time back by 10 minutes. There sure is a lot more grease on the bottom than with the toaster oven. Very crispy outside. :) Can't wait for some beef to put in it! :)

Well, I made the bacon and herb crusted beef tenderloin in the machine. The recepie called for 33-55 minutes, I cooked it for 25 minutes, came out perfect and didn't blacken the oven like in the real oven. :) All the bacon splatter got blown to the bottom, away from the meat. MMMmmmmm! I think it's well worth it. :)

Is the Flavorwave Oven still working well? I remember seeing this product on TV, but forgot all about it. I had to look up the images to see what it was. It's cool how your bacon and herb crusted beef tenderloin called for 33-55 minutes in a regular oven, but was cut to 25 minutes in the Flavorwave. What else have you prepared in it thus far?

Baked potatoes are awesome out of it, just scrub them and in they go. It still takes 45 minutes for them though (how long for a baked potato in a real oven?)

I've made NY strip steaks straight from the freezer, 16 minutes at 400*. I tried a pizza but it didn't cook through the middle. french fries are good from it, but you need to position them just right or they fall through.

Cleaning is easy. :)
