Have tried these couple times and they are fantastic! .......YUMMY!!.......Enjoy, Jackie

Marshmallow Krispies Brownies

1 box brownie mix (chewy kind is the best)
1 bag miniature marshmallows (10 1/2 oz size)
1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup peanut butter
1 tablespoon butter
1 1/2 cups Rice Krispies cereal

Prepare and bake brownie mix as directed in a 9 x 13-inch pan. Don't overbake! When time is up, remove from oven and cover top with marshmallows. Return to oven for 3 to 5 minutes to melt marshmallows. Cool in pan on rack till completely cool:

In saucepan combine chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter. Heat and stir until chips are melted. Remove from heat and stir in Rice Krispies cereal. Pour evenly over marshmallows. Refrigerate until set. Can serve at room temp, but I like them best kept in refrigerator.

Those sounds really good!! I think I might make them for Thanksgiving, too!!

One question......you say....
Cool in pan on rack till completely cool
Okay, do you mean inside the oven?? Do I leave the door open or shut? Sorry....I just want to make sure I am reading this right....

THANKS!!! :D

Glad your going to try them, you'll love them!

Lucy: after you bake the brownies for the alloted time on the package, just pull them from oven (leave oven on) and sprinkle the marshmallows over the top and put them back in the oven till they are all melted, which is 3 to 5 min. (So don't overbake the brownies.) Then when marshmallows are melted take them out , shut off the oven, and cool them on a rack on the counter till no longer warm. This gives marshmallows time to set up. Then proceed with the topping stuff and spread it over the marshmallows. first time I made them I didn't wait for the marshmallows to cool and then when I tried to spread the topping it got all mixed together, but was still quite yummy. Everyone just loves these and as a matter of fact we had some tonight that my DIL baked. She didn't have any Rice Krispies so she left them out and they were still very good. She made lots of them for a bake sale for boy scouts.

Okay thanks, Jackie!! I get it now......(cool them on a rack on the counter) That was the part I wasn't too sure about......You know how blonds can be.

I take it that since it goes in the fridge anyway, that it would be okay to make this a day or two ahead.

I can't wait to do this one......Thanks again, Jackie!!!

Lucy: From one blonde (faded redhead  ) to another: I'm sitting here with one in my hand now and typing with one hand.. Last night our DIL sent us home with doggy bag full. The directions say serve at room temperature, but I just think they stay firmer if kept in fridge. They will keep quite a while in the fridge as so moist. That is, if you can stay outta them :D I have frozen some too and they did fine. That way you can just throw open the freezer and get your chocolate fix whenever you need it  Let me know if you like them.................Jackie

Jackie, I sure hope you see this tonight!!

Okay, I made the brownie's in the 9X13 pan. That is fine, but I put the marshmallows on, and my God, they came to the top of the darn pan! :o Are they supposed to?? Cause I can't imagine the Rice Krispies going on the top now......Do it just stack okay, and not go over the edge??

Lucy is Tizzying out here in Indiana!!!

Hi Lucy: I think it will be fine as the topping sets up pretty quick after you spread it on and you put it in the fridge. I always make mine in that same size pan. Maybe your brownie mix makes a bigger batch for some reason. Maybe let topping cool a little bit after you melt the chips, etc and then won't be quite so runny when you put it on top? Don't think you can hurt them in any way> Good luck!. and Happy Thanksgiving!.............Jackie

Hi Jackie!!

Well, the marshmallow went down a little, and I think it will be fine.....I haven't done the topping yet, but will in the morning.....The brownie mix was Betty Crocker, for the 9X13 pan......it said chewie on it, too....(can you tell we don't do sweets much....lol)

I can't wait to try it....

Thanks for being so patient will me...

Sorry for the Tizzy......When I saw that marshmallow all heaped up, I freaked!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

We made this on Wednesday for Thanksgiving and wow, they are yummy :D We didn't have any problem with running out of room - Lucygoose, maybe you made cake-like brownies instead of the chewy kind? I'll be making these again some time :)

Lucy, you crack me up! lol It never occured to me that when you posted you had just taken them out of the oven and they were still puffed up.  They do flatten down a bit as they cool, and you can always press them down a little too, I guess. Glad you and Chris both liked the recipe. They really are habit forming. I've made them quite a few times this year....Jackie

 Yeah, I saw that marshmallow all puffed up and freaked! Ran to post, then when I seen it was okay, felt blond!

Ya know what I did find out about brownie mix....(Never really make them ever.....Not big sweet eaters) Was wow, all the different kinds! It was me and this little old lady looking.....She helped me get the Dunkin Hines chewy for 9X13 pan.....they really aren't that thick......They ARE good....Most of them say 9X9.... :hmm: ....So maybe you guys used that and they are thinner, and don't puff that high with the marshmallow....There! Did that make me sound better?

I sent them to my mom's and she said everyone liked them....

Thanks, Jackie!!! :D

Lucy, you are really lucky that you don't crave sweets! I wish I craved only salads and raw greens . .I usually buy just whatever brownie mix is on sale at the time. Do try to get the chewy kind though and it does make alot......Jackie

Hey Lucy: Watch when you put them outside. I once did that with big bowl of potato salad as was winter and no room in the fridge (was just going to let it chill a little) and a cat ate it! I was furious!  I'm really glad you like the recipe so well. I've made quite a few batches of these too and everyone loves them. Merry Christmas Lucy!... :snow: ...............Jackie
