Cherry pie cake

Post by mommatina »

I don't know the name of this cake.. but it is sooooo good..and easy

layer in a 9x13 pan...
1 can cherry pie filling
1 can pineapple tidbits (drained)
3/4 cup sugar
1 box yellow cake mix
1 cup butter (melted)
bake in a 350 oven for 1 hour and it is recommended that you do not open the door

my DIL used apple pie filling in one and blueberry pie filling in another one she made... both were very good...

Oh that sounds good! Well except I don't like pineapple, wonder if I could use something else?

Looks easy too, for people like me who hates to cook

Sounds like a "dump cake".

Layers of
One can Crushed Pinnapple with juice
One can Cherry Pie filling
One box yellow cake mix
One stick butter, cut up and dropped around the top.

Bake at 350 for 45 min to 60 min.

It is awsome. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream on top.

So the cake mix is still dry when you put it on?

Yes, you just sprinkle the dry cake mix on it...it is so gooood..I forgot that you put 1 cup chopped pecans on the top.. that is what makes it so good...

This would be very good. I've done the same thing in a dutch oven nestled into hot coals . . . and it's delicious while still warm, like a warm cherry pie! mmmmmm...I'm getting hungry!

We're trying the dump cake today in a 13x9 inch baking dish. (There wasn't a pan size listed for the second recipe).

I know this is a really old post but I made this tonight. I'm becoming quite the Betty Crocker since I've been off work

Thought I would try this, because it looked easy LOL.

I used peaches instead of cherry.
