I bought this cactus at Lowes. It was marked down to $2.50. Can't pass up a bargain. Anyone have any idea what kind it is? Thanks!

Does this one have any sort of leaves at any time? I'm not sure if this is a milk one now after seeing the whole thing. It is to wide and the shaping isn't quite right.

Right now it has tiny leaves like the other one...The Milk Cactus. Here is a pic of it's leaves...very tiny right now....Pic isn't that great. It sorta looks like the milk cactus but with broader leaves.

Those could be new side shoots not leaves. Here is what ours looks like.

It's a Cactus, don't know the scientific name for it, or its specific variety.

I grow up in the Philippines, and these plants are abundant. It can grow tall as 6ft, I think what you have is a dwarf variety. The picture shows me a common cactus in the philippines and we use it to fence a property, along with barb wires. There are little leaflets found just by the torn, like what you got in the picture.

Careful: Cactus saps can irritate you, I learned that first hand. Ran into it while playing tag as a 7 year old kid. The thorns hurts a lot, and the sap just stung me, reddish irritation for one week. Teach me a lesson " never ever ran into a cactus".

Hope that helps.:)
