Hens and Chicks

- Tall ....grew up from a "hen & chick" plant

For the first time this year my hens and chicks are standing up and growing tall wit a sort of flower on the top. I'll try to attach a picture. Is this different than the flat hens and chicks?

It is my understanding that when they bloom that is the end or they die shortly afterwards.

So what happened after the bloom? New little ones or RIP?
