Water feature

Post by irkwater »

Hi.

Ihave had in my garden an old carved stone trough that belonged years ago to my grandfather who used it as a drinking trough for various poulltry and small livestock
For the last fifty years or more it has been used for garden plants. It is now being used as a water feature in our Japanesei style garden
Who ever carved it out of a block of stone many many years ago would maybe be pleased it is again used to hold water once again

That is the sort of thing I love to see used in a Japanese garden
Reminds me of the Japanese themselves who use, for example, old lanterns from the monasteries etc :)

That is absolutly brilliant, a natural stone trough the guy that chisseled that out all those years ago will be smiling down on you from heaven.

Very neat! Thanks for sharing it and it's history! Love to see this stuff re-used in the garden for different purposes. I suppose my ol' girls would be getting their thirst quenched in daily too! :) Very cool!

What a treasure you have there. It must surely have been already old when your grandfather acquired it?
