I dont know if any one has tried this but its a great place for inspiration. Click on Google images and just enter Japanese garden, there are an amazing amount of pictures and sites to visit. Plenty of good ideas. I'm probably a bit slow and everyone has already tried it, so this is for the PC slow like me!!

You're entirely right that you can find lots of Japanese Garden pictures via Google.
You've probably found this site, but just in case you or anybody else hasn't, it's one that has hundreds - maybe thousands - of first rate pictures -
