Happy Spring!!!

Post by Mr. Hanami »

HAPPY SPRING TIME FROM NEW ENGLAND!!!

We had a very pleasant winter until March. We made up for it all at once. Thankfully most of the snow melted today.

I have a fun idea to get us in the mood. Post your favorite Spring time haikus/Asian poems.

"The year is ended, and it only adds to my age;
Spring has come, but I must take leave of my home.
Alas, that the trees in this eastern garden,
Without me, will still bear flowers."
Su Ting (670-727)

Thanks,

flood to my mind
as I stand in the garden gazing at a cherry tree.

I enjoy eastern philosophy and sayings Like the one you use about the perfect cherry blossom.
As a matter of fact I have just planted a Japanese variety that is in flower now Prunus koyo or something like that

Spring perhaps is on the way. Night temps in the 30's through next Monday, then perhaps.

Enjoyed the poem.

Domo arigato Tokyo Mike,
It's in the 30's at night over here too. We're supposed to get a nor'easter Monday. They're actually contemplating canceling the Boston Marathon for the first time in over a hundred years. Mannnnnnnn...what a Spring!!!

THE SILVER LINING !

Post by Tokyo Mike »

The silver lining in the recent freeze...50-75% off of trees and shrubs at garden centers !

Managed to plant a new weeping cherry, white dogwood and five large azaleas all at 75% off !
