Differing colours of Kamagata

Hi,
This photo shows how by placing in different positions in the garden a Kamagata colours up. the one on the left has been in shade the one in the middle in dapled shade and the bonsai on the right has been in full sun.

Wow! Big differnce. Are they same age too? Or just the coloring difference? I was wondering if perhaps they grew better in the shade. Quicker I mean.

Interesting. I would have the thought the one in more sun would have grown faster. Although I have none in my gardens, I always appreciate the ones in yours! :D
