Beginner trimming

Post by Gardentoad »

Hi All,
I'm very new to this. I just bought a small blue pfitzer juniper. I have seen some pictures on the 'net that show this plant trimmed in clouds.

My plant has 3 branches. Two branches are about 14" long, almost horizonal and 90 degrees from each other. A small 8" branch is growing from and parallel to one of the larger branches.

Do I steak it to bring the branches up or should I just wait for new branches to grow on these and then trim the new ones into ovals on the ends?
How much can you trim off at once, percentage wise?

This is what I'd like to end up with someday.

Hi,
For the best advice post a photo of your juniper, we will then be able to advise what to do.
George.
