Hi,
I took some seeds from my Acer Suminagashi on the 25th october last year(2007) and placed them in the fridge in a paper bag, Yesterday I took them out of the fridge and placed them on a piece of paper kitchen roll and just dampened the paper wih a few drops of water then put back in fridge, I will keep the paper damp but not wet and maybe sow them in mid Feb.
here's two photo's of them .
George.

The seedlings (if they germinate) will be plants in their own right. If they thrive it is possible that they could be used as a rootstock for other cultivars. You wouldn't use them as scion wood because the parentage is uncertain
George will probably try to use them as bonsai

Hi, I'm lurking here a bit and am enjoying your photos. I have some acer Japonicum Acontifolium seed that I'm hoping will germinate. I have some that I am trying indoors and some that I "winter sowed" into a pot out of doors. I hope to get at least a few germinated for myself and for sharing with friends. I have my fingers crossed for seedlings similar to the parent.
Good luck with your Suminigashi seeds.
Laura
