Koi forum???

Hi everyone, are you ready for spring yet! I hope you folks are surviving the winter ok. I miss hanging out with you all. It was a crazy 08. I’m glad we got through it. This winter has been an old fashioned one so far, like when I was a kid. We’ve been getting a snowstorm every week. We’ve received over 50 inches of snow already. Mannnnnnnnn…I’m sick of snow. With all this cold & snowy weather, I’ve been thinking a lot about the next phase in my hardscaping.

My good friend, who is my acupuncturist, has a beautiful baby koi in a large aquarium in his clinic. He is planning on placing him in a pond someday. Maybe mine  if I can complete my yard in the next couple of years.

I’m starting to research koi and goldfish now. Since we had to lay to rest our beloved dog Elvis in November  I’ve been thinking about koi.

I know George has mastered the art of koi husbandry. So I was wondering if George and the gang could recommend a good koi forum? Do any of you belong to one?

Hey George,
Thanks for the link. I can't wait to learn more about these majestic creatures. My favorite color pattern is Kohaku. I noticed on your website George that you have a few beautiful Kohakus among other outstanding koi. I think Tancho is my favorite. Thanks for the help.
Cheers!

Hi,
I too like Tancho's, in fact many years ago in the late 70's I entered a Tancho in the second ever koi show in GB and it came third and it won a medal, but I think my favourites have to be Showa and a close second comes Asagi.
This is my favourite Showa which I have named Kanji becase I think the pattern looks like kanji.

It's a pleasure having you two with us to talk koi.
George, have you ever met Peter Waddington or know of his work ?

We are all followers on KoiShack.

Hi Mike,
I know Peter from the early days of koi keeping in the UK but have not seen him since those early days, but he is one of the best suppliers of koi in the UK.
George.

George, Peter retired just last year. His son has taken over the business. It's in good hands.
But if you can get hold of the hardcover set Koi2Kichi you will enjoy hours of Nishkigoi heaven.

BTW, this is a great koi forum to go and learn on. The conversation is truly for Koi gurus. I've been in koi for 13 years and I still don't get involved in some of the topics. Just like to go and read.
It's run by the Waddington's.
