Filming at Fujiyama

Post by whis4ey »

OK
The garden has just been commissioned as the setting for two scenes of a new short film called 'Yuki'
The film is about a young Japanese girl who comes over from Japan with her parents to live in Northern Ireland
Two of the early scenes are in Japan and our garden has been selected for the filming of those scenes
We have already met with the producer and director and two of the film crew, one of whom worked with Dame Helen Mirren in 'Queen', so they know what they are about. One of their recent films was featured at the last Queen's Film Festival in Belfast
Filming dates still to be finalised but expected after May
I may be able to add a shortened version to my website at a later date :)
Will keep you advised

That's great to hear! Are you excited about it, or nervous about making sure it is just right? :D

This time of year Chris, all I can think about is trying to get the garden into order. Everything needs done at once, which is impossible, so sometimes even important things simply aren't done
Pond weed to clear before the frogs start spawning and the ducks arrive
Compost heap to clear before the grass starts getting cut again in ernest
Teahouse roof leaking and needing replaced
Gunnera to be reduced by nearly half as it is quickly outgrowing its alloted space
Wildflower meadow needing cut ... big job
Path edgings have collapsed and need replaced or simply removed
etc etc etc
The film makers will be considered nearer the time .....
I bet you have exactly the same problems :)
