Moving iris question

Post by Hosta12_Ia »

We will be moving sometime between the middle of June to the first part of July. My iris are just getting ready to bloom. What should I do to move these?? Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
Jo

Jo, after they bloom I would dig them up and put them in pots. Yes you can cut them back to do this so that there isn't a lot of top to them. After ours are done blooming we start cutting them back and cleaning out the bed but this year we are going to be moving the whole bed as I need more brug space!

I'l be moving all of my iris bed starting next month. Gotta make room for a garden cottage my wife wants. Also I would like concentrate all my iris's. Have a lot scattered through out the front and back yard. As long as they're finished with the bloom, just cut back the foliage and either put in pots or place in another bed. Not real hard, just somewhat time consuming. Good Luck!!
