My First Iris to Bloom this Year!

Post by LucyGoose »

I got this from notmartha in the first perennial trade I did about 3-4 years ago.....It never bloomed before (well maybe last year, but I don't think so) It has always just been there.....has multiplied but this is the only bloom stalk.....I'll have to get a picture of the whole thing to show you guys what it looks like and what should I do to make it bloom more/better.....

Thanks for looking!! :D

Oh, that's pretty! Now that it's blooming maybe you don't have to do anything to it.

LG, Very pretty! And how exciting. And you got it from Notmartha, that is special!

And how did you get an Iris blooming before I did! I'm a zone warmer than you.

I do have a couple buds on a purple Iris a friend gave me last year. Un-named of course, but a wonderful clump.

Thanks Sharon!! The bed that this is in, is up front facing south, and it's always ahead of every where else here....Yep, I have a lot of Dori's stuff! Very special!

Here it is again.....So pretty to me!!

That's a beauty! Great colors. Nothingspecial you need to do with it. Just remove the blomstalk after it is finsihed and clean up any dead or dying leaves over the summer and fall. It should put on an even better show next year. :)

So you say leave it along huh, Mike? Okay I will....I just wonder why it has never really done anything till now.....There were 3 blooms on the one stalk, though......I like it!

Thanks's again! :D
