Thanks. I love the color! In one of the pics I saw, the color was washed out and not as pretty. I wasn't sure what the true color would be.
Mike, I keep forgetting to smell them. For some reason, I just don't associate irises with fragrance.
LucyGoose, I just went out with my flashlight and smelled Picador and Princess B. I got the sweet fragrance of Picador and a slight fragrance from Princess B. Is there a time of day when the fragrance is strongest?
The warmer it is the stronger the fragrance. Check them out on a sunny day. You will be hooked instantly and start sticking your nose in every iris you see.

We such humid air here that you don't have to even try to smell the iris. When I walk my beds the air is perfumed with their fragrance. I have a bench in the corner of my big garden, and one day last week I sat there just to smell the iris and peony.
@ Pat! "For reason I just don't associate iris with fragrance"! That light blue is the one my DW loves the most. It's got a FANTASTIC fragrance. The few iris I've bought (and forgotten the names ) have all been fragrant. I still haven't been forgiven for moving a big clump from under our bedroom window. After they finish blooming, I've got orders to put some back.
Love the iris!
Tons of mine didn't bloom cause of that dang cold weather we had
Killed all the buds on my varigated one, it smelled like grape koolaid, smells sooooo good!
Your iris is beautiful! Does is smell like grape koolaid too?

What a pretty color. And I didn't know that irises smelled? oh myyyy I'll have to smell mine when they start blooming. Gee ya learn something new every day.
Annie, I didn't think the bud on this one was going to open because of the cold snap we had. I was completely surprised when it did. It smells sweet but not like grape kool-aid to me.
