Here's a couple of seedlings that are blooming for the first time. Almost all have been ugly, but I thought these two were pretty and I'll watch them for another year. Several dozen others are heading to the compost.
The first is a seed from Helen Collingwood and the second from Jean Cayeux.

Oooh - yours appears to have a wire rim of color around the falls! Very unusual. And yes, similar color tones to the one of mine.
I am looking forward to seeing what these two do next year. I'm told not to judge branching or bud count the first year, but just color and form.
