Small Yellow Iris

Post by JaneG »

This is an iris I love. I don't remember where I got it, probably 5-6 years ago, or what it's name might be. It always blooms early. It's a rapid grower and spreads fast. Yellow is my favorite color and this is a nice bright splash of yellow in the spring. The mother clump that I keep taking these from is about 2'x3' this year.

It's about 12-15 inches tall.

Very pretty Jane!

Is that the same yellow iris that you shared with me several years ago in the secret perennial trade? I went out and checked mine this morning. It has buds. :D I was surprised to find another iris (Cherry Garden) blooming near it. This is the first year for that one to bloom.

Yes Pat, that's the one!! :D I'm glad to hear it's happy in your garden. That's one of the reasons I like it so much, it takes dividing and transplanting so well.

I agree. It's like a splash of sunshine. It's a dreary, rainy day but the first bloom on my little, yellow iris opened today. :D Thanks so much for sharing this little beauty with me.
