Small Yellow Iris

This is an iris I love. I don't remember where I got it, probably 5-6 years ago, or what it's name might be. It always blooms early. It's a rapid grower and spreads fast. Yellow is my favorite color and this is a nice bright splash of yellow in the spring. The mother clump that I keep taking these from is about 2'x3' this year.

It's about 12-15 inches tall.

Is that the same yellow iris that you shared with me several years ago in the secret perennial trade? I went out and checked mine this morning. It has buds. I was surprised to find another iris (Cherry Garden) blooming near it. This is the first year for that one to bloom.

Yes Pat, that's the one!!

I'm glad to hear it's happy in your garden. That's one of the reasons I like it so much, it takes dividing and transplanting so well.

I agree. It's like a splash of sunshine. It's a dreary, rainy day but the first bloom on my little, yellow iris opened today. Thanks so much for sharing this little beauty with me.
