Found a plant coming up in the garden,the foliage looks like Iris but the blades are half white and half geen is there such an Iris? Can't do pictures sorry.

Yes, there is a form of i. pallida that has varigated foliage. I believe the white marked one is i. pallida 'Argentea Variegata'. There's a yellow and green one as well that is sometimes found under the name 'Zebra'.
