How's your iris season?

Post by Garden_of_Mu »

We're having a long, cold, wet spring and the irises are just not showing off as well as they would if we could just get a little sun and warmth. Lots of pretty flowers about but few big displays with lots of blooms open at once. I've been busy taking photos and cleaning up the beds so have had little time to post pics. Here's a few that are blooming now..

Mike - Thanks for opening up your gardens for us. We had a good time walking around yesterday looking at all your iris babies, and seeing some of my plants again as well :) I haven't looked at the photos I took yet, but I think I got some really good ones :) It's definitely a beautiful place when the iris are in bloom!!!!

Andi - I am so glad you and Kara had a good time and the weather cooperated with us. And thank you for the arisaemas. You are welcome anytime to see your babies in their new home. :)

Those are beautiful. Such pretty deep colors.

We were hot but a lot of rain. I do not know if I did not get a lot of blooms because I moved everything from my old house to my new house or if it was because of all the rain. Maybe I will have a better show next year.

We were extra hot and fairly dry and we have the best crop of Iris we've seen in years. Sorry that yours aren't doing so well Mike, but those pics still look great :)

Lovely irises, everyone!

These are the two I have blooming so far. Both were gifts and I have no idea what the names are.
