Modern bearded TBs

Post by Garden_of_Mu »

Here's some of the modern tall bearded varieties I photographed this spring. I am not as fond of most varities of the past 40 years as I am the older ones, as I don't care for the super wide petals and overdone ruffling, but these varieties have a more tailored form to them so catch my eye with their wonderful colors and patterns. Mercury Rising is particularly striking, as is Old Black Magic. I love what Brad Kasperek is doing with broken colors and his Tiger Honey is a really nice example. This one has so much personality. Echo Beach has unique coloration as does Thornbird with it's lovely dark, smoky, red-violet horns.
